LinkedIn Navigator: The Essential Guide

Finding the decision-maker is incredibly hard. Gatekeepers try to keep us away.

I remember the first time I called a hospital 🏥 when I was first starting out, and asked for the manager of the ER, thinking they would transfer me, and they sent me to Human Resources.

Naively, I thought it was a mistake and cheerfully called back again, and told them that they transferred me to the wrong place. I was wrong. 🤦‍♀️

They explained to me that they were NOT going to transfer me to the manager of the ER, because she had more important things to do than talk to me, and if I wanted to reach her I could go through HR.

You can guess how that went.

Almost twenty years later, I have many tricks for finding the decision-maker, and LinkedIn Navigator is one of those.

I often have people ask me whether I think Navigator is worth the price tag. And after months of investigation, I have concluded that I do think it probably is, but there are some drawbacks.

Have you tried it? What do you think?
