Blog Post #2: Have you ever needed advice from a neutral outsider?

One time I was working on a deal, and I couldn’t get the nursing manager to call me back. We had a great initial conversation, and she seemed really interested, but then…nothing. She “went dark”, as they say, meaning she just wouldn’t return any calls or emails.

The presentation date was looming, and I didn’t know what to do. I stressed and worried, and in the end, I put tons of time into making it the best presentation I could. I even flew in my boss to help.

And you know what happened?

We lost that deal. It turns out, the competition had gotten in there, and the customer became convinced we couldn’t offer her what she needed, so she went into the presentation knowing she wasn’t going to choose us.

In retrospect, I wish I would have had someone to ask for advice. I didn’t necessarily want to admit all the gory details to my boss or my colleagues at the time, but I sure wish I had!

Now, I would love to offer you access to our private Facebook community. You can ask questions of me, and I will give my advice. You will also get advice from fellow members and be able to start networking with other sales professionals. Please join us!!
